It’s time to go get those college school supplies because the fall semester is just around the corner. Just when you began to feel free, the supplies and signs are back in store. The smell of your college campus is about to fill your lungs again.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But sadly it’s that time of year again.
I am heading into the last semester of my Junior year. And, I still get excited about notebooks, pencils and pens. Although my college school supplies list isn’t as lengthy before, it doesn’t stop me from being excited to go shopping for them.
This is what your college school supplies list should look like.
1 | Binder
Binders are lifesavers when it comes to college. It’s important to keep all of your worksheets together. If you’re old-fashioned, like me, and love to take handwritten notes, this is your place to store them.
Pairing binders with dividers so that you can keep your entire semester in one place just makes sense. It’s easy to come back for midterms week and have everything that you need in one place. Of course, if you prefer to take your notes on your computer, you can always print them out and put them here.
2 | Paper
You need to doodle somewhere right? Aside from taking notes, paper comes in handy for writing notes, throwing at people and the occasional disposal of gum.
Whether you prefer to take notes on lined, dotted or plain white paper. Don’t forget that you will also have your trusty binder to keep all your loose-leaf paper in.
3 | Folder
A folder comes in handy for those days that you’re in a rush. You can either replace the binder with having a folder for each class, or you can have one folder for everything. And yes, I mean everything.
It’s cute if you match your folder along with the rest of your school supplies. I say go for a color theme this year to make you feel more motivated.
4 | Planner
Let’s face it. What college school supplies list would be complete without a planner? You’re going to need somewhere to write where your due dates, exams and extra-curricular activities. College time management is essential. Knowing how to manage your time will help you have more free time.
It’s also a great place to realize how much you have to do and come to terms with the fact that you’ll be sleeping less.
But don’t worry, just pick a cute planner and it will make everything better.
5 | Highlighters
These are very important. If you’re like me and you make your notes and textbooks look like a five-year-old went through them. Then you know these are much needed.
Highlighters make things so much easier, especially when reviewing notes or trying to go through a chapter in a textbook. You can go through and assign key terms a different color, make dates another color and so on. They even come in handy when trying to organize your life in your planner.
6 | Post-It Notes
Alas, my most favorite thing ever. Post-it notes are the greatest invention. They’re so practical and easy to use. You write something down and stick it to your notes or your textbook (or maybe even a person, who knows).
They make important things easy to remember since they will be the first thing you see when you go to your notes or textbook.
7 | Pens/Pencils
Pens and pencils are a very important aspect of college school supplies. Actually, they’re important no matter what grade you’re in. You need to be able to write down what you need to get done, write notes and important dates in your planner.
You won’t be able to do that without getting pens or pencils.
8 | Laptop or Tablet
Although the most expensive item on your college school supplies list – you definitely need it. You can do so much with it, in class or out of class. Where else are you supposed to procrastinate and watch Netflix shows when you have five assignments due the next day?
These also come in handy to take notes, if you prefer to do them that way.
Shopping for college school supplies although at times expensive, is very minimal.
You really don’t need much since most of your assignments will most likely be online. So worry less about the semester and know that you’ll get through it!
